RESTORATION MINISTRIES

         Repairing Broken Hearts and Marriages

2/01/2010

           Dear Prayer Partners,

We started Restoration Ministries 4 years ago.  We were reminded of the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 (John 6:1-13).  He saw the people, knew their need and asked His disciples to be a part of meeting the need.  The only food available was a boy’s 5 small loaves and 2 fish.  Andrew said to Jesus, “how far will they go among so many”.  It was such a small amount.  However, when the boy put what he had in the Lord’s hands, He blessed and used it to feed the multitudes.  The Lord prompted me with the question, “What’s in your hands?  How have I prepared you and Brenda, and are you willing to put what’s small in My hands, and let me multiply it.?”  We took a step of faith and continue to see the Lord Jesus blessing and multiplying what’s been put in His hands.  Thank you for your partnership with us.

Recent Praise and Prayer Items:

 1.  For the safe arrival of Jhett Dixon Daum, born Nov. 6, to Troy and Chivonne.  He’s got

a good start as a Cornhusker, weighing in at 8 lbs. 12 oz. His big brother, Jackson, is thrilled.

2.  For the couple who came with broken hearts over the death of a small child and desiring to

know how they could be assured of salvation.  The Lord Jesus brought great comfort to

their hearts as they trusted Him for salvation.

3.   For couples who are allowing the Lord to change them and are experiencing His healing in

their lives and marriages.  (See testimonies).  We also ask you to continue to pray that they

will continue to grow together with Christ.

4.   For the excellent marriage conference at Bethel E Free in North Platte, NE.  There were

62 couples who attended.  Also pray for the conference at New Hope Church in Ogallala,

NE., Feb. 27-28, and Mar. 6-7.  It’s our desire to do some marriage conferences that will

equip couples with Biblical tools that will enable them to apply God’s truth to strengthen

      marriage and family relationships.

5.  We thank God for Shawn and Becky who are working on editing our new video series,

and Darrin and Tammy and Matt and Chasity, who helped with a recent marriage

conference.  Their marriages have been strengthened through this ministry and now they are

coming along side other couples to encourage them.  God is raising up a team of people who

are caring for the hearts of others as a result of what the Lord is doing in them.

6.     We’ve been praying about the possibility of doing a summer family weekend campout to

equip and strengthen families.  It would be a time of teaching for the whole family, as well

as encouraging families to spend time together enjoying the outdoors with other families

who love the Lord.  Pray that if this is of the Lord, He will put it on the hearts of a team of

people who would be willing to help plan, organize and participate in such a weekend.  If

you are interested in something like this please let us know.

We want to thank each household or local church that has helped make this ministry possible in 2009.   Please let us know how we can be praying for you.

                                                                        Resting In His Faithfulness,

Recent Testimonies:

(The following testimony is from a young man is allowing the Lord Jesus to be at home in his heart (Eph. 3:17).  The work that God did in his heart during counseling has encouraged and equipped him as he prepares to serve in Africa.)  As he prepares to go He writes:  “This week was a leap forward for me as my direction within the organization was defined much more specifically.   My team leader, has conveyed that when I complete my fundraising I will be taking over leadership of our East Africa projects in Gambella, Kenya and Hurso, Ethiopia.”

(A wife from Nebraska writes)

“I just figured out why what you do is so effective....you guided us to focus on Jesus and to take our problems and cares to Him.  You led us in dealing with these things in His way.  No wonder it works!!  No wonder we left feeling clean and hopeful!!   Even now, 3 weeks later, I realize that our relationship depends on including Him and bowing to His ways.”

(Another wife wrote)
“I just wanted to say thank you so much for the time you spent with my husband and I over the last few months.  The hope and joy I have now is amazing....and I just praise God for the way He used you to help us to tear down the walls around our hearts and let Jesus minister to us.  All day long, I feel like saying Praise God!!  I feel like shouting for joy.  This is something that is so "not normal" for me that I know Jesus has performed a miracle in my heart.”

(A couple who came last summer because their married children came and were impacted.)

“Can’t believe it’s been about 5 months since we spent our week in Cozad.  We are a much better couple, …we’re working on learning.  Thanks for giving your life to a ministry that reaches and touches our future and our children’s future.”

(From a couple who were separated but now have a new marriage)

“Our love and respect for each other is at a whole new level since we have been able to look into each other’s hearts and understand the pain in a different light.  God bless you both.  Our Christmas will be very special this year.”

(A husband wrote)

“We can’t thank you enough for the tools you gave us to deal with adverse situations. … recognizing the pain, and the lie of the enemy (associated with the pain), embracing the truth, Biblically forgiving and then accepting God’s amazing grace to replace the offence.”

We would also ask you to pray for those who have come who wish they could share a testimony of reconciliation but can’t.  In some cases their spouse has chosen not to use the Biblical tools they were given, but chooses to pursue a path of selfishness.  In other cases a patient spouse continues to wait, pray, and allow God to work in their own life through the trials they are going through.  Please pray for them.  One such wife recently wrote that she and her husband finally turned the corner (Over a year after counseling) and their marriage is better than ever.  God did a significant work in her, and God’s love flowing through her has worked change in her husband.

To God be the glory
